Info, Rules & Regulations

The Crowns for a Cure pageant is open to anyone between the ages of 0-19 years old. Good sportsmanship is expected at all times. Disruptive behavior before, during, or after the pageant will result in disqualification. There is a zero tolerance for poor sportsmanship.

Age Divisions: The age division that you compete in is based on your age the day of the event.

Baby Miss Heartland (0-3 years old), Tiny Miss Heartland (4-6), Mini Miss Miss Heartland (7-9), Little Miss Heartland (10-12), Junior Miss Heartland (13-15), Miss Heartland Teen (16-19) and our overall winners will be crowned as Miss Heartland Princess between the ages of (0-9) and Miss Heartland can be between the ages of (10-19). Both winner of the most points overall.

Areas of Competition: All age groups will participate in casual wear and have an on-stage introduction. Only 10-19 year olds will introduce themselves during casual wear. The emcee will introduce 0-9 year old contestants. All age groups will compete in formal attire. There will be an on-stage interview during formal wear for 7-9 year olds (simple questions/from their bio). Between the ages of 10-19 will compete in formal attire with an on stage question (social topics). A list of examples of these on stage questions will be posted on our Facebook page.

Attire: Age appropriate make-up is allowed for all contestants. Formal wear must be worn during crowning.

Casual Wear: Contestants are asked to wear their Crowns for a Cure shirt sponsored by Teez 2 Pleez with black pants, shorts or skirt whichever they feel best in (be cautious of length needs to be school appropriate). 

 

Formal  Wear:  Maybe but not limited to Sunday Best, Party Dress, Flower Girl,  Easter  Dress, Bridesmaid, Junior Prom Style. The dress length can be tea length, short at knees or slightly above for ages 0-9. Floor length evening gown is recommended for ages 10-19. 

Please encourage the contestant to choose a dress/ gown that makes them feel most confident and best represents them!

Stage: The stage pattern will be practiced Friday March 31st at the KOA. We will  provide all music and contestants will have 1-2 minutes on stage. Contestants 0-4 years of age must have a guardian on stage with them at all  times. No guardians are allowed on stage with contestants 7 years and up.

Scoring: Our judges are qualified professionals from different  industries of  life. During casual wear, contestants are judged on character, personality, and overall stage presence.  During formal wear, contestants are  judged on facial beauty,  poise/self confidence and presentation in the dress; not the dress itself. Optional  events (Best Dressed, Most Beautiful, Photogenic & Overall Winner) are judged on first impressions. All judges' decisions are final.
